The nightclub, Club Blu, had been hosting a party for teens before the gunfire broke out after midnight Monday. A story came on about the shootings. Police haven’t said whether the men were involved in the shooting.
Teenagers Sean Archilles and Sef’an Strawder both lost their lives to gunshot wounds during the early morning shootings, and 18 others were injured as a result of the horrific act of violence.
Online state records show the alcohol license for a Fort Myers club that was the site of a deadly shooting was revoked June 7. It was not immediately clear what triggered the violence.
“There has already been a tremendous outpouring to our City from across the country sharing their thoughts and prayers and wanting to know how they can help”, said Fort Myers Mayor Randall P. Lawrence questioned why a teen night would be held at a nightclub, or why parents would allow such young children to be out that late. The dealerships and other stores left the area a decade or two ago for more advantageous locations farther south. Stores in strip malls, such as the one home to Club Blu and the plumbing store, were left half empty.
There were two active crime scenes – the club and a street in the area, which also remained closed as police investigated.

Police in Fort Myers say the area around a deadly nightclub shooting has been deemed safe.
