Mondesi to World Series roster, drop Terrance Gore
If Mondesi plays a moment in the World Series, he’d become the first player in history to make his major-league debut in it. “So I’m ready for that”. I’m not 100 percent, but I know I’ll be ready for Tuesday.
Aside from those slight changes, the Mets and Royals will go to battle with the players who helped them get to this point in the League Division and League Championship Series.
In all, Mondesi played 13 years in the major leagues – 1,525 games in the regular season, none in the World Series.
He was a shortstop much of his career but hasn’t played there since 2012 – and even then it was only one game that season for the Dodgers.
His father retired in 2005 after playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and Toronto without making it to the World Series.
The Royals have placed infielder Raul Mondesi on the roster by selecting his contract from Northwest Arkansas. Mondesi Jr. had a 95.3-percent fielding percentage at shortstop this year and 97.4-percent at second base.
Juan Uribe has been added to the Mets roster for the World Series. The switch-hitting middle infielder can provide more than just the bat as he will have the chance to show off his talents while providing another infield glove.
Asked whose hair was better, Cueto responded: “I’m going to say mine”. It struck teammate Lorenzo Cain amusing, with the Royals having gotten back to the World Series after reaching it in 2014. He’ll replace speedy outfielder Terrance Gore who has been used as a pinch runner but has not had a plate appearance this postseason. He’s a great addition to this team. The team is concerned that second baseman Ben Zobrist may have to leave during the series to be with his wife who is expecting to give birth any day now and was said to have had Braxton Hicks contractions during the ALCS. He was the youngest player in the South Atlantic League at that time. When I was that age I think I was in rookie ball somewhere.
Doesn’t look a day older than…
