Money carrier shot in head outside Orlando-area Publix
“She was informed of the passing of her husband and her son – she does not remember the crash and at that time, didn’t remember the family members either”, told Lt. Rob Pelton of the Altamonte Springs police department to WESH.
An armored truck driver was shot in the head Thursday afternoon at a Publix grocery store in Altamonte Springs, and the assailants remain on the loose with stolen cash, according to police.
Investigators said it could take up to 60 days to complete the crash report.
The getaway vehicle was found at a nearby apartment complex.
The video later shows the actual shooting and the driver’s falling to the ground about 3:30 p.m. ET, police said.
“We heard two gunshots and then one guy was walking away”, Lusted said.
Lusted, from Georgia, and his friends who are all 2011 graduates of The Citadel are in Central Florida to attend a wedding. They said Guthrie is devastated by the incident.
The Publix, which is near State Road 436 and Palms Springs Drive, is closed as police investigate the shooting.
Police crime tape blocked the entrance to the supermarket, and more than a dozen police officers and deputies were outside the store.
