Montee Ball arrested for substantial battery
Ball was reportedly arrested early Friday morning after allegedly pushing his girlfriend into a table.
Ball, 25, was the Broncos second round pick in the 2013 out of the University of Wisconsin.
Police said Ball was cooperative during the arrest.
“The woman told police she had a dispute with her boyfriend”, a police source told the newspaper.
Police were reportedly called around 3:45 a.m. Friday and Ball was taken from the Hampton Hotel and Suites on W. Johnson St.to Dane County Jail on initial charges of substantial battery.
The New England Patriots signed Ball to their practice squad in December, where he finished the 2015 season. The caller, Ball’s girlfriend, alleged the former Wisconsin standout pushed her into a table, which cut her leg.
A source told us Ball was involved in a domestic violence incident at a downtown hotel. He played two seasons with the team, appearing in Super Bowl 48 as a rookie, before being released last September. While that number was impressive, it became clear during this season’s training camp that he had lost much of the burst that had made him a top-tier college running back.
