Montgomery County students leave schools to protest Trump

Another protester told AFP she hoped the USA system of using an electoral college to elect presidents could be changed. In several parts, there were incidents of violence reported from such protests.
A man was shot and wounded in Portland Oregon during a confrontation on Saturday as they protest Trump’s presidency.
Witnesses say the Trump supporter joined the march of hundreds and began to argue with anti-Trump protesters.
In a letter to North parents Tuesday night, Principal Gene Haynes said school staff were aware students planned to protest and would have extra security on hand.
The actions continued days of demonstrations that have broken out in cities and high school campuses following Trump’s election victory last week. The protest took place at a statue of Mexico that represents their independence.
The group met with Boudreau outside City Hall, and she spoke to them about the election.
Trump has argued the protests across the nation have been “incited by the media,” but also acknowledged the demonstrators “have a passion for our great country”.
“Most of us are voting in the next election”, she said.
