Montgomery Gentry Singer’s Son Dies at 19
The 19-year-old son of Eddie Montgomery died Sunday. Respecting the Montgomery’s privacy and still curious to know what happened, fans are offering the family heartfelt kindness and respect to wait until the right time to ask about the accident.
Hunter’s passing was initially attributed to an unspecified accident, but his mother – Montgomery’s ex-wife, Tracy Nunan – revealed on Wednesday night (Sept. 30) that the young man’s cause of death was an overdose. In a Facebook post, she says that she’s sharing the news for two reasons.
“I would like to sincerely thank the thousands of people that have overwhelmed us with an outpouring of support and love following the death of my son, Hunter“.
“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him”. ‘My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
“Not a day will go by without our missing him”, Nunan concludes. The couple split in late 2010, shortly after Eddie discovered he had prostate cancer, which he beat. Last year, he filed for individual bankruptcy due to debt from a failed restaurant and the divorce. He remarried, to Jennifer Belcher, in 2014.
Eddie Montgomery along with his better half, Troy Gentry has given many hits such as “If You Ever Stop Loving Me”, “Something To Be Proud Of”, and “Roll With Me”.
