Montreal dominates Boston in 4-2 win

It was a reminder the Bruins and the Canadiens will play outdoors in Foxboro in the annual Winter Classic game on New Year’s Day. Both teams lost a player to a game misconduct during one of the many scrums between the historic rivals.

The Bruins are off to their first 0-2 start in 10 years.

But, as he seems to have learned quickly, few personal moments trump a team’s defeat.

That meant that when Matt Beleskey took an illegal check to the head penalty 1:14 into the game, it was offensive defenseman Joe Morrow who was sent out kill the penalty with Kevan Miller.

“And my understanding, like I said, was that if I get pushed into the goalie and I’m working hard to get out of there, it’s fine”, Bergeron said. “I’m not disappointed in his start”.

A lot changed over the summer in regards to the Boston Bruins.

Jones was later dished to San Jose for a 2016 first-round pick and forward Sean Kuraly; Zboril is considered a long-term project on defense, leaving Miller as the lone piece who could make an immediate impact on the Bruins’ roster. Furthermore, the Bruins have not beat them at home since January 12, 2012, which if you remember, was the game in which Mike Cammalleri was traded to the Calgary Flames in the middle of the game.

Boston coach Claude Julien challenged, but the call stood after a video review and disgruntled Bruins fans let loose with a loud chorus of boos.

“That was a tough call”, Miller said, “but we’ve got to take the positives here and move on”.

For Miller, it was a missed opportunity for an assist that he’s better off putting behind him.
