Montrealer wins the final rose on The Bachelor
Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi confirmed on The Bachelor: After the Final Rose Monday night that they are engaged and planning for the future, but it’s fair to say that the public didn’t necessarily have all that glowing of a reaction to seeing the two of them together.
Nick Viall and his new fiancée Vanessa Grimaldi are enjoying the slow stroll to wherever their post-Bachelor relationship takes them. Nick and Vanessa have barely had a real connection on the show, so who knows how this relationship is going to play out. “We’re just realistic about it, and I think that’s what we have going for us”. While the Vialls had positive reactions to both Vanessa and Raven, the women had different approaches toward their remaining hours with Nick.
Nick’s sister Bella expressed preference for Raven, while Nick’s father admitted he thought Raven was “mature” and that she would make “a great partner for Nick”. Things with Vanessa seem heavy all the time.
Vanessa went on to say that the distance was also tough; until now, she’s been living in Canada while Nick was in Los Angeles prepping to go on yet another TV competition show, “Dancing With the Stars”. Coming into the final episode, in the the showy landscape of Finland, Nick had to choose between two women. Vanessa remarked that meeting Santa brought back memories of her childhood.
It would seem, with the cameras no longer rolling, that their relationship is headed the way of many a “Bachelor” couple before them: engagement limbo. Like if she decides in the end she’s not willing to move away from her family to be with Nick – a totally fair decision – that’s going to be a dealbreaker. Twice she said they are taking “baby steps”. “I’m questioning whether or not I am ready to be engaged at the end of this”.
I felt huge sadness for putting Raven through that, and I will always be terribly sorry.
“It’s like the ultimate romantic place”, Raven said. Her lingering questions and the fact that she may not be ready to accept a proposal leave Nick with a haunting apprehension of his past. It was also sad because all they did was talk about the other two times Nick had has heart broken. In return, Nick tells her how much he cares and respects her.
Others were more supportive of the new pair, but they were in the vast minority.
“I am always hopeful for happy endings, especially when it comes to my #BachelorNation family, but @VanessaGrimaldi doesn’t seem happy”, Trista tweeted.
But both of them just look so totally in love during Monday night’s (March 13) “After the Final Rose” special, right?! “I think we just have to experience those things before we even consider”. Then Nick cries while telling her that his heart is for somebody else.
That is it! What did you think of The Bachelor Finale tonight? “I’m sorry. I’m gonna miss you”.
