More BlackBerry Priv specs officially confirmed
Of course, the price in pounds is likely to be much closer to that dollar figure than a direct translation from Chinese currency. Dubbed Priv, the device should be announced sometime in November, but it will probably go on sale in December. Together with the pre-registration page, however, BlackBerry is also giving a few clues about the Android smartphone’s features.
Furthermore, the website also mentions the phone will introduce a feature called DTEK, an app that sounds like it will scan the device for malware and security vulnerabilities.
Rumor has it that BlackBerry Priv’s display supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, which would be on par with other flagship smartphones available on the market. The battery is a whopping 3410mAh, which is quite large, and the camera uses a Schneider-Kreuznach lens.
Given the fact that the Priv is not going to be a bog standard blackberry and the company has not exactly been flush with success lately it was inevitable that the company would try and push the phone around the u bend of high margins. Other specs related to the Priv include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, an 18 megapixel camera, a 5 megapixel front-facing camera and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Specific pricing and availability information is still up in the air at this point for the Priv, although BlackBerry promises that if you sign up via the pre-registration form on this webpage, you’ll be the fist to know when the device is available for purchase.
