More to rely on Angel Tree
United Way of North Central Arkansas is collecting Christmas gifts for nearly 500 kids through the Angel Tree Program.
Charities focused on helping people in need across Northeast MS polish their marketing skills during the holiday season from Thanksgiving through Christmas and the New Year, hoping generosity often shared in a close circle can broaden to serve more individuals and families.
Bluewater shopping centre is encouraging visitors to donate gifts to disadvantaged children this Christmas. “It’s an opportunity for children who are in need to experience Christmas”, said Major Glenn Riggs of the Salvation Army here in Meridian.
A year ago east Auckland residents collectively placed an impressive 3456 gifts under the Wishing Tree.
To participate in The Angel Tree Program as a donation tree location, please contact any local Salvation Army branch.
The Salvation Army is challenging people to help reach the national target of 50,000 presents in celebration of the appeal’s 21 year. “We often hear from families that without the Angel Tree gifts, there would be no gifts under the tree”.
They have relaunched their 20 ft tall “giving tree” – which features a number of tags with the name and age of a child written on them.
Kmart Henderson manager Heath Blackler says he is proud of the company’s association with the appeal.
Kmart urges the community to get behind the Appeal and invites you to join the launch day activities. There will also be a BBQ, bake sale and special guest appearance by St. Nick!
In order to ensure these families don’t go without, ABC10 is encouraging viewers to pick-up an Angel Tree tag and fulfill the wish of a child in the community. Unfortunately, many in our community are struggling and demands of everyday life keeps them from filling the bottom of their Christmas tree.
Alternatively collect a bauble from the Wishing Tree and scan it at checkout to make a monetary contribution.
