‘Morning Joe’s’ Mika Brzezinski Laughs Down Hillary Clinton’s David Brock
While I believe any of the Democratic candidates would win the general election, given the far right turn the GOP has taken, it is Hillary Clinton who has the best chance of delivering a Democratic majority in the Senate, to bring up just one critical example of our dysfunctional government.
It’s the season premiere of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in Rockefeller Plaza this week, and Clinton is bopping, waving, laughing and enjoying herself oh-so conspicuously. And I think if you look at the evidence, the conclusion’s inescapable, three times in the last six months, the Times essentially carried, on the front page, allegations of criminal misconduct by Hillary Clinton’s campaign spent $18.7 million in the second quarter, dramatically more than any other.
Clinton Foundation donor, ended up groundless, and then the original story, which may be the worst, the original email story, where they said she may have broken federal law. “I think there is concern on her campaign about the gender gap, which has gotten significantly narrower since our poll in July”, said Lee Mirengoff, the director of the Marist poll.
He’s one of them now, leaving behind his days as a dirt-digging conservative writer behind more than a decade ago to become one of the most ardent defenders in Bill and Hillary Clinton’s arsenal.
Though the timeline is helpful, the overall thesis is this: “The most important thing to understand about the Clinton email controversy is that it shouldn’t – and probably won’t – force you to radically revise your own opinion of Clinton or whether she should be president“. Maybe they seemed poll-tested because they were poll-tested, but no matter: “The coming months will also be a period of trying to shed her scriptedness”.
The ad is available on the internet, and being played in television markets in Iowa and New Hampshire. Although Clinton still held onto women by seven points, her lead among women there is down 16 points since July. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) by 18 percentage points, at 24 percent.
Certainly, part of Clinton’s problem comes from her very authentic secrecy, which led to the disastrous decision to have a private email server. He said it was not his intent to fan the flames – as the campaign tries to put it to rest – but rather as a wakeup call against what he believes is an intentional strategy to undercut her candidacy. Her bad judgment on Benghazi. But what voters reject every time is a phony. It especially wasn’t worth it knowing she was going to run for President.
