Morris to report to Phoenix Suns’ training camp — National Basketball Association News
Morris appeared at the team’s media day on Monday and expressed that he wants to be with the Suns.
To say that this beef is done would be naive, but I think it’s safe to move forward assuming that Morris will be in a Suns uniform for the forseeable future.
He declined to speak about his offseason issues with the team and spoke highly of coach Jeff Hornacek.
When he was asked about the summer comments, Kieff said “It’s between us and we’re going to deal with it”.
Markieff said he plans to continue improving despite the absence of Marcus Morris, whom the Suns had acquired in a trade in early 2013.
Markieff wasn’t happy with his brother’s trade, and has gone as far as to demand a trade of his own.
He also called out Suns fans for a lack of support following a blowout home loss to the Spurs. Markieff averaged a career-best 15.3 points and 6.2 rebounds last season. But Markieff said he’s “super-confident” that will be resolved.
Tyson Chandler on Markieff: “This isn’t the first time a player had miscommunication with management”. “In our league, it seems to always work itself out and I feel like this won’t be any different”. “I love playing with him”.
Eric Bledsoe on Markieff: “He’s a great teammate. You’d be mad too, you know”.
Since the last Suns season ended with a playoff miss for the fifth consecutive year, the executives, coaches and players have worked to improve the team for more than five months in preparation for this day when they head to training camp in Flagstaff. They return Saturday for a public scrimmage at Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the Arizona State Fairgrounds, where the Suns played before moving downtown in 1992.
