Moscow Sought Trump’s Presidential Victory — FBI Chief
Someone is lying. The question is, who can you believe?
The import of what unfolded Monday on Capitol Hill is hard to overstate.
“Comey took the opportunity to do something not unprecedented, but unusual, to confirm the investigation”, Himes began.
Earlier, the television network CNN claimed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation allegedly had evidence indicating that certain persons in Donald Trump’s entourage may have had contacts with Russian representatives and “coordinated the release of information” damaging to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Comey said, citing that the probe is classified and ongoing.
And this came, of course, after the president, one of his early morning tweets last weekend, basically said President Obama had the phones at Trump Tower in NY wiretapped. “However, it’s still possible that other surveillance activities were used against President Trump and his associates'”. When no evidence was provided, the idea was floated that Obama actually had the British intelligence community do the wiretapping, which Rogers confirmed to be untrue today.
The apartment used by the suspects was just three floors below Trump’s own penthouse residence, but the FBI investigation did not implicate or involve the real-estate tycoon who would go on to become the 45th United States president, according to ABC.
First, it undermines the credibility of the intelligence committee’s investigation.
“Policies which, even as recently as the president’s meeting last week with (German Chancellor) Angela Merkel, have now presciently come the pass”, Schiff said Monday during the hearing.
Trump has repeatedly denied having any connections to Russian hackers, intelligence agencies, or Vladimir Putin.
COMEY, asked about the tweet while he was still testifying: “I’m sorry, I haven’t been following anybody on Twitter while I’ve been sitting here”.
It’s time for the mainstream media to face some harsh reality – but can they handle the truth?
Spicer said that the president was not going to apologize.
“I can not say more about what we are doing and whose conduct we are examining”.
Himes, speaking about Trump, said, “he’ll attack anyone”.
Whether a similar special committee or outside commission can be created on Russian Federation depends on one thing – the willingness of Republicans to pursue the facts rather than slavishly defend a president with a shaky allegiance to democracy and a shakier grasp of truth. “There’s a huge question mark about why that would be so”.
It’s been called a “gray cloud” hanging over the Trump administration – the investigations into possible collusion between Donald J. Trump’s campaign for the White House and Russian leadership. “The American people have a right to know and in order to defend ourselves, we need to know whether the circumstantial evidence of collusion and direct evidence of deception is indicative of more”.
