Moscow Woman Waves Severed Child’s Head, Screams ‘I Am a Terrorist’
A police officer ran up to the woman, knocked her down and handcuffed her. Law-enforcement officials later confirmed that the woman was holding a child’s head.
Local reporter Polina Nikolskaya told Reuters she heard the woman shout “Allahu Akbar”.
“I thought she just went mad … when I saw the head I started shaking …”
Bystanders said it was hard to determine if it was a man or a woman, as the person was dressed head to toe in black.
The body of the child was found in a Moscow apartment Monday after the building had been set on fire. Interfax news agency, citing a law enforcement source, identified the woman as 38-year-old Gyulchekhra Bobokulova, a native of ex-Soviet majority-Muslim Uzbekistan.
According to Russian media, the woman is accused of setting fire to the parents’ apartment after killing the three- or four-year-old girl.
The reports indicated that the suspect killed the child in a nearby apartment, then set the home on fire before walking out into the street.
Russian media also reported police searced for explosive devices in and around Oktyabrskoye Pole metro station.

Other witnesses, the BBC reported, claimed the woman walked up and down outside the metro station for some 20 minutes, shouting and brandishing the head. Police believe she was drugged.
Russian police have said they are not treating the incident as terrorism.
The dead child is understood to have a 15-year-old brother and her family from the Oryol region was renting the apartment.
The woman is said to have revealed the motive behind her decision to commit the act – due to her husband’s infidelity – according to a report on Life News.
The suspect, who was born in 1977, is undergoing a psychiatric review.
