Mother, daughter dead in Summit County house explosion; 2 still missing
The family’s other daughter remained missing early Tuesday. He did not identify the victims.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on South Oakmont Road about 9 p.m. and found the house fully engulfed in flames.
Responders arrived to find the home “completely engulfed in flames” and it took nearly a half-hour to bring the blaze under control, Fire Chief Frank Risko told NBC News.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, although officials do not believe the blast was caused by natural gas.
Stay on topic – This helps keep the thread focused on the discussion at hand. He said the father was found near the back of the house.
Neighbors reported hearing the blast around 8:30 p.m.
The family dog made it out of the home alive, authorities said. He told Cleveland.com that he and his son, Nate, rushed to the house and kicked in the front door.
Risko said this is his first deadly fire in the 25 years he has been with the department. We were yelling and nothing. “They always wanted to play”.
