Mother Dies While Feeding Baby, Who Then Chokes to Death

“[Police and firefighters] saw a mother on the floor who apparently was deceased from natural causes, and they saw a one-year-old that was strapped into a seat as though she had been feeding him deceased as well”.

Los Angeles police were called to the Hollywood apartment around 3 p.m. on Monday, October 5 after a anxious neighbor called 911.

A toddler was left alone for days inside an apartment after his mum died suddenly while feeding his baby brother, who also choked to death. The boy, who was seated nearby, died after choking on a few food.

Though the identifications of the mother and her sons are being held by officials pending family notification, local published reports say the woman was identified by friends as Erika Tomassian, an Australian who lived in America where she worked as a marketing director at 7 Stars Production. Her younger son appears to have choked to death.

The mother and son had been dead for about two days before they were found.

Ms Tomassian, originally from Sydney, Australia, had recently adopted the two boys.

Foul play is not suspected.

Authorities confirmed that the boy was extremely dehydrated and taken to the hospital in stable condition, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

Police estimate he survived on his own for approximately two days and had been rummaging in cupboards for food.

Tomassian had recently been treated for bronchitis and may have died from complications from the illness, according to police.
