Mother injected daughter, other teen with heroin
(Coatesville) – A suburban Philadelphia woman has been arrested for repeatedly injected her 14-year-old daughter and another teen with heroin.
During the course of investigation, police allege they determined that the girl and a 16-year-old male, also at the home, had been injected with heroin – on numerous occasions throughout the month of September – by Jessica Lynn Riffey, 34.
34-year-old Jessica Lynn Riffey has been charged with drug and child abuse charges.
As Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan noted in CBS News, supplying heroin is like signing a potential death warrant.
A magisterial judge sent Riffey to county jail on 13 counts including drug possession, corruption of minors and reckless endangerment after she was unable to post bail, said court records.
On October 1st, West Caln police visited the Riffey home in response to a call to investigate the wellbeing of the daughter. Police said that teens were able to describe the process in a few detail and claimed that Riffey’s boyfriend, not identified in the statement, allegedly provided both of them a snortable version of the drug. “Injecting children… with heroin demonstrates a depravity that defies belief”. Riffey was arrested and charged.
The children told police that Riffey had a couple of times taken them to her bedroom to use the drug.
Riffey is wedged at Chester County Prison. Thankfully, the children are now safe and will be afforded treatment if necessary.
