The man charged with murdering “Baby Doe“, who has since been identified as Bella Bond, was greatly interested in the occult.

Court documents reveal the story, from law enforcement’s perspective, of how McCarthy and Bond ended up in court on Monday. UPDATE: (9:50 a.m.): The prosecution has asked that Michael McCarthy be held without bail and that Rachelle Bond be held on $1-million bail. He told Boston.com that he and Bond planned to go to authorities. She said her head appeared swollen and her face looked gray, Deakin told the court. “Ms Bond didn’t hear any noise in the bedroom for some time”.

We now know who she was.

Bond came in shortly after, and that is when she allegedly found her daughter dead.

Bella Bond’s body was found on June 25.

Authorities on Friday finally identified Baby Doe as 2½-year-old Bella Bond and announced charges against Rachelle Bond and her boyfriend, McCarthy.

Prosecutors allege Ms Bond panicked and didn’t know what to do. The friend alleges that the couple was abusive to Bella. He said Bella deserved that treatment because she was possessed by demons. He then drove to a location in the Seaport District, where he weighted it down and placed it in the water.

The medical examiner has ruled out all natural causes for the child’s death, the prosecutor said.

DNA received by the infant’s hairbrush and compared to Baby Doe indicate a match.

Suffolk Assistant District Attorney David Deakin said Monday that Rachelle Bond told investigators her daughter was being unruly one night in late May and refused to go to sleep.

Later, Bond said, McCarthy put the bag containing Bella’s body inside a duffel bag and put the duffel bag inside the trunk of his vehicle, Deakin said. He has not confessed, nor did he mention his conversations with his lifelong friend. MSNBC Bella’s biological dad, Joe Amoroso, attends Monday’s arraignment. He was denied bond. Bond was held on $1 million cash bail. The hash blows led to Bella’s death.
