Motorola confirms new Android Beta Experiences program is on its way
Motorola’s decision to unveil Moto E5 and E5 Plus at the same time as the new Moto G6 family of phones is a debatable one.
So, the Motorola Moto G6 looks nearly identical to that of the G6, which is no bad thing. Other characteristics remain identical across both models, including Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection against scratches and relatively small bezels, save for the regular-sized chin which lacks a physical Home button that’s otherwise present on the other two Moto G6-series products. The cases for both variants include the ArmourDillo protective case, ExoShield tough snap-on case, FlexiShield gel case, the leather-style wallet case, and an ultra-thin case.
The Moto G6 Play has a single 13 MP camera with an F/2.0 aperture on the rear and there’s also a dual-tone dual-LED flash on the back. This could possibly be a rendering issue from the accessory manufacturer. All come with elongated 18:9 aspect ratio screens. The rear camera gains 4K recording capability on the G6 Plus, whereas the front camera gets a 16MP sensor.
In terms of specs, the Moto E5 features a 5.7-inch HD display having an aspect ratio of 18:9. Motorola hasn’t said about Indian availability yet, but considering Moto E series has been popular with the entry-level segment in India, it may eventually be launched here. That gets you a decent overall smartphone with a large battery, average screen, and a huge 4,000 mAh battery. All the three Moto E5 devices feature similar specifications, but the Moto E5 Plus packs better specifications and bigger battery compared to the other two. The star of the show, however, is the massive 5,000 mAh battery, which supports 15W charging. It looks and feels identical to the Moto G6, but it’s £50 more expensive and seems to benefit from only fractional improvements to specifications. The smartphone is offered in Indigo and Gold colors.
Pricing for all devices in the U.S. stays under $250, starting with the Moto G6. At the top end of the line is the Moto G6 Plus which has a 5.9-inch screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 630 with 6GB of RAM.
The powerful Moto G6 be first: It comes as a successor to the yesteryear’s Moto G5, but with a slightly downgraded Mobile Platform though.
There’s also a big 4,000mAh battery, stock Android 8.0 Oreo interface, headphone jack and a 5MP front facing camera. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Pricing of Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus is yet to be revealed. The USP of the Moto E5 Plus is the 5000mAh battery, and the phone thankfully also ships with TurboCharge technology.
On the back there’s a slight camera bulge above the circular Motorola logo, and that emblem actually doubles as an easy-to-hit fingerprint scanner.
They’re all neatly contained in the Moto app where you’ll find gestures (Moto Actions), handy screen features (Moto Display) as well as some new things. Like the E5 Play, the E5 Plus only comes with a single camera on its back, but it’s equipped with a 12-megapixel sensor.
The Moto E5 Plus will be rolling out in Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and North America.
