Motorola Moto X Pure Edition Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Detailed
CM13 Nightlies are not stable builds, but you should still get the basic Android 6.0 Marshmallow functions along with some extra things created by the CyanogenMod team.
The people behind CyanogenMod, the customized operating system that uses Android as its source, have revealed that they’re now allowing users with certain devices to begin downloading “nightly” version of CyanogenMod 13, which is based on Android 6 Marshmallow. The new update will offer features and improvements from the latest OS like doze mode, app standby, expandable storage, do not disturb, now on tap, direct share and more. With each new Nightly build that gets released you will see better performance and a much more stable Android environment.
Cyanogen says that devices which already running on CM12 Snapshot release (either CM12.1 YOG4P or CM12.1 YOG7D) are recommended to wait for a stable release as nightly builds may have some serious bugs.
CM13 will bring a number of new features, such as Fingerprint sensor and Multi-Window support to Android devices.
You may have noticed that the dialer shortcut on your Android 6.0 lock screen has been replaced with a shortcut to Google Now. One of these is to ensure that they have the correct model for the smartphone.
It has also released the same update for the Moto X (2nd Gen) and the Moto X Pure Edition (2015).
CyanogenMod suggests that the team is working on a CM13 Snapshot release that is expected to be made available by January 2016. The blog announcement also promises that this list will be growing, with new devices added pretty soon.
That said, if you have any addons and modules – such as exposed – it’s highly reocmmended that you also flash Marshmallow-compatible versions of those addons immediately after flashing CyanogenMod to avoid any issues.
It seems that Google is somehow rushing with updates right now, which means that our Android devices will be more secure in the future.
