Motta – Matuidi should stay
Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Motta says team-mate Blaise Matuidi should look to stay at the club.
The French club demand €40m for the midfielder but both Unai Emery and PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi have warned that Matuidi is not for sale, but it’s believed the player himself is keen to move to Turin.
“He’s experienced, but if he wants some advice then mine would be “stay here”. They have the players to do better than in previous years’.
“PSG’s midfield has always been a strong point of ours and hopefully that continues”, Motta said in a news conference ahead of Sunday’s Ligue 1 home clash with FC Metz.
“I appreciate Blaise on and off the pitch”, the Brazil-born Italian stated. I am very pleased with him and he is happy here.
“We’ve often played as a trio with Marco (Verratti), and we the core of the team.” added Motta, “If we lost a player like him we’d be losing a lot”. Those in charge think Matuidi is very important.
“This discussion has been had and for us, everything is clear. I expect this speculation to end soon and I want the player to stay”.
