Moultrie Couple, Infant Killed in Florida Turnpike Crash
Two adults and one baby were killed after their vehicles rolled over in a fiery crash early Sunday morning on the Florida Turnpike.
The accident involved two cars at mile marker 286, which is near Highway 27 in Howey-in-the-Hills, troopers said.
According to FHP, their 2001 Nissan Maxima was rear-ended before overturning on its side and catching on fire around 4:20 a.m. Sunday.
The Nissan’s male driver and female passenger died at the scene.
Authorities say three bodies were so badly burned in a crash on Florida’s Turnpike that dental records will be needed to identify the victims.
The infant girl was ejected from the Nissan, Montes said, and died at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital.
WKMG, Orlando reports that the man who caused the wreck, James Dameron, suffered minor injuries, and was driving with a suspended license, and had more than a dozen traffic infractions since 2013.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
