Mourinho blames pitch for Terry injury
Jose Mourinho has confirmed that John Terry and Ramires are both major injury doubts for Chelsea’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.
Jose Mourinho is waiting to learn the full extent of the damage but even if it not serious, Terry is still like to miss the Spurs clash.
Terry injured his right ankle during Chelsea’s 4-0 victory, while Ramires hurt himself while training on the surface on Monday night. “Only when we felt we were in danger did we have a good reaction”.
“I was disappointed. I reacted”.
Maccabi Tel Aviv boss Slavisa Jokanovic said his side were better than in the return contest in London, when Chelsea also won 1-0, but having Ben Haim sent off was challenging.
“For the group I need a calculator, ‘ said Mourinho”.
Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has said that the Blues must use their Champions League victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv as a springboard to revive their season.
“It’s important we keep this momentum going”, Cahill told Chelsea TV.
John has an ankle injury I think down to the pitch, and we don’t know how bad it is yet. “He reacted too but at half-time in the dressing-room, a few kisses, a few cuddles…no problem”. Let us know in the comments section below. With the draw I don’t know. “If I did not have Pedro on the bench then I don’t think I could improve on Hazard’s performance for the last 20 minutes of the match”.
The teams came out for the second half but it was Maccabi who had the first chance as Eli Dasa escaped the poorly positioned Baba Rahman to go through one-on-one with Begovic but the big Bosnian was equal to the strike. But with two clean sheets recorded in back-to-back games, something that otherwise wouldn’t generate much fuss is now noteworthy.
The Blues beat Norwich 1-0 courtesy of a Diego Costa goal on Saturday to end a run of three straight Premier League defeats and climb to 15th in the table. Only that stopped us playing better and cost us more goals.
