Mourinho Claims Rivals Want To Buy Title
Reports that Mourinho was likely to extend his deal first emerged at the end of last season but it now appears he will officially commit to Stamford Bridge until 2019 before the Blues Premier League opener against Swansea on August 8.
While the situation is different now as Mourinho attempts to repeat the feat, it is still an interesting claim.
So much so Mourinho said the club may have to adopt the southern city as a temporary home when renovations begin at Stamford Bridge in the near future.
“Now, they (Chelsea’s rival) are buying the title”. All of them, they are buying the title.
However, if they are going to win the top flight again it will take more than the signings of Asmir Begovic and Radamel Falcao. Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain on penalties in their second pre-season friendly in Charlotte, North Carolina today.
The Red Devils have parted way with nearly £70m following the arrivals of Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Matteo Darmian. Arsene Wenger has the backing of the board to surpass the club record transfer fee of £42.5 million spent on Mesut Ozil in order to get in a world-class player up front. Terry played every minute of that successful campaign and the club rewarded the centre-back by extending his contract for one year. Now, with stability in place with Mourinho at the hlem, Terry believed that Chelsea can dominate the league for a long time.
Chelsea’s counterparts have loosened the purse strings a lot more than Mourinho this summer, with Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool all spending the big bucks in a quest to massively improve their squads ahead of the new season.
