Mourinho extends his deal with Chelsea

Mourinho himself today signed new a four-year contract with the club, keeping him tied to the Chelsea job until 2019.

Chelsea’s run for another title begins with a visit from very tricky Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon (12:30 p.m. ET on NBC and online via Live Extra). He holds a career record of 496-96-149 across all competitions.

“People like me and Steven want to play of course”. “I think this is a normal thing for me to sign a new contract”, said Mourinho. “I don’t have a second left back but I have other players that we are working with to, in the future, able to play in that position in case we don’t get cover”.

The Special One thinks that his current crop will have to surpass their efforts from last term if they are to retain their title this year having failed to bring in any of their top targets ahead of the big Premier League kick off this weekend.
