Mourinho Needs Tom Cruise At Chelsea FC, Because It’s Mission Impossible
Chelsea are 12 points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal and, while Mourinho conceded that the task facing his side could be compared to that of a popular movie franchise, he stated it was attainable.
Mourinho told Hazard he needs to work harder after dropping him from the starting line-up for the Aston Villa game and that was underlined when Hazard was reluctant to join the rest of the substitutes for a post-match warm down after going on for the final seven minutes. “Maybe I have to play at number 10 because we have to try”.
“Obviously we are very sorry with everything that happened during the week, and the stadium and all the professionals gave a fantastic reaction of solidarity with all the victims”.
“I think the fourth position is a hard position but a possible task”.
“If you ask me the title, I would say it’s an impossible mission”.
“Maybe Tom Cruise can do it bit it’s complicated”.
Meanwhile, Mourinho was pleased to see playmaker Eden Hazard pick up a man-of-the-match award against the Canaries.
Of all the individual players mentioned above, Hazard in particular was outstanding, looking very much like his old self as he looked to take on an opposition defender every time he was on the ball. “Our build-up play was creating a lot of chances on goal, which we have been doing of late as well, so we are pleased with that and at half-time the manager was stressing we continue and the door will open, the goal will come, and thankfully it did”. We have to do better.
Teams finishing in top four have recorded an average of 72 points in the past five seasons, and for Chelsea to reach that mark, they would need a further 58 point equivalent to 19 wins and a draw in the remaining 25 matches. “Sometimes the goalkeepers have saved lovely shots, but he scored an important goal”.
Kurt Zouma also hit the bar after Chelsea had gone 1-0 up.
“If I had to choose somebody to score the winning goal, I would go exactly with him”, Mourinho said. Diego Costa ended a run of 500 minutes without a goal with the victor in the 63rd minute. “And then because the situation is fragile, where we think everything goes against us and we are never lucky, we put ourselves in a position in the last four minutes where they had a throw-in, a corner, a rebound and you can lose two points”. As for Alex Neil and Norwich, they can be pleased with a hard-working, solid display, despite the defeat.
‘It’s my fourth season and we won a lot of trophies last season.
