Mourinho Signs New Four-Year Chelsea Deal
The new deal ties the self-proclaimed Special One to Chelsea until June 2019.
“It’s unsafe. The saying is right, that ‘If you stand still you get worse, ‘” as quoted by the Daily Star.
Mourinho has confessed that not significantly strengthening his side in the summer market is a “dangerous” decision; however, he insists that it is down to the current crop of players to prove that splashing the cash is not key to sustained success. It’s right, but the same people can move forward. “They can have the equal best team, but Jose is the difference”.
The Portuguese coach hopes the players will respond to his loyalty, by continuing to improve this season.
“Every club has very good players so I think it’s hard for the top teams in England because of the competitive nature”, he said.
“I try and take away as many excuses as possible so they are accountable”.
“It is the club closest to my heart and I am very happy to know I will be staying here for a long time”.
“If the club is happy, I am happy”.
Swansea skipper Ashley Williams added: “It wasn’t that nice being a defender, I would have liked it to be tighter but a point at Stamford Bridge is always welcome”.
Asked if he feels his squad can with the title, Wenger, speaking ahead of his side’s opener against West Ham at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, said: “I believe yes, all going well, and us maintaining our game“.
When a player receives medical attention they automatically have to leave the field for the next phase of play and, in this case, Hazard left Mourinho’s men down to eight outfield players.
Chelsea have had two bids rejected for Everton’s John Stones and have not replace Felipe Luis at left-back.
Chelsea struck the first blow as Oscar curled in a free-kick that evaded those in the box and nestled in the far corner.
“If I could, I would speak with you (the media) once in a month”. “The pressure is really on you when you know you are just on the border of achieving what is absolutely requested”.
New signing, Petr Cech, was at fault for one, if not both, of the goals on the day for the Hammers on his Arsenal Premier League debut.
Mourinho will need to apply some of his magic to get his team clicking once kick-off comes.
