MRC’s Bozell Congratulates Fox Business, Quotes Liberal Media Kudos
Last night was yet another installment of the GOP circus-also known as a Republican primary debate. “We are a country of laws”, he said. “It’s a silly argument. We were fine”, he said. And even when given the opportunity by the moderators to jump into a discussion about the economy, he failed to shut down an interruption by John Kasich.
“As someone with extensive experience in Washington, Kasich I think distinguished himself as quite knowledgeable on foreign policy, something he had not really talked about that much in previous debates”, Canon said.
John Kasich got a little too into the King of Jordan last night, when he stated: “Jordan, we want the king to reign for 1,000 years”. Those who didn’t register would be “treated as criminals”, i.e., probably deported (since that’s what happens to many unauthorized immigrants checked into jails right now).
After the debate’s conclusion, 43% of Republicans who watched said that they viewed Rubio more favorably than they had before the debate, and 37% said the same of Carson, who ably parried questions regarding inconsistencies in his personal narrative that have dogged his campaign over the past week. The current frontrunner, Ben Carson, complained of “gotcha” questions.
Kasich’s response was met with loud boos from the audience, but he continued. Considering the professionalism of Bartiromo at the helm on Tuesday night – compared to the likes of Fox’s Megyn Kelly and the MSNBC performance in the last debate – Kelly, Fox and MSNBC have been cast in more of an incredibly bad light. Fellow outsider Donald Trump displayed stylistic improvements but remained typically sketchy on substance.
“[He has] the fortitude to be a good president”, the former Florida governor says in another. He may not have delivered a knock-out punch at the debate, but his performance proved superior to other candidates liked by GOP insiders, including Bush and Kasich. When debating the Trans-Pacific Partnership, he shifted immediately toward China, only to be called out by Rand Paul who made the point that China isn’t party to the TPP.
“Come on, folks, we know you can’t pick them up and ship them across the border”.
Donald Trump is often seen as the most radical GOP candidate.
“I know enough about him to know he is a gangster”, Rubio said.
Carson said he was being truthful in describing how military officials had suggested he would be admitted to West Point if he had applied when he was graduating from high school.
“I have no problem, being vetted”, said Dr. Ben Carson when asked about allegations his autobiography contained false statements.
Carson instead accused Hillary Clinton of lying about whether the Benghazi attacks constituted terrorism. The televised contest opened with a narrow focus on economic policy, with moderators from Fox Business News allowing the candidates to deliver lengthy answers and avoiding attempts to get them to engage with one another. “What I do have a problem with is being lied about and then putting that out there as truth, and I don’t even mind that so much, if they do it about – with everybody, like people on the other side”, he added.
