MRI reveals Tom Brady suffered ankle sprain in Patriots’ loss
Brady’s inconsistency on the deep throws – he was just 24 of 67 on the season – was showcased against the Dolphins, and it hasn’t proven to be a successful way to generate quick points for the Patriots.

Quarterback Tom Brady completed only 12 passes, and none of his receivers caught more than two of them.
Brady was seen limping after the game and is reportedly dealing with an ankle sprain that he will – thanks to a bye week – have two weeks to recover from.
Say whatever you’d like about New England’s performance Sunday, or its lack of desire in the regular season finale, but the Dolphins have split the series with the Patriots the past three seasons.
As the AFC’s No. 2 seed, the Patriots have a bye this weekend before the divisional round January 16-17. You have to talk to the coaches to see what the strategy was.
It was nearly as if they were playing not to get hurt at times, instead of with the urgency to earn the No. 1 seed.
“Nothing over the last six weeks is going to matter”, Brady said. I mean, whatever it is, it is and wherever we play, we play.
COACH SEARCH: The Dolphins (6-10) missed the playoffs for the seventh consecutive year, which is why another coaching change looms. With a depleted receiving core the Patriots would return home to face the Philadelphia Eagles, who had given up 5 touchdown in back to back games. That’s troubling, because this is the time of year when really good teams – the ones that win the Super Bowl rings – are cresting.
-SPECIAL TEAMS: C-plus. Pro Bowl kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed a 46-yard field goal attempt wide right. Eventually Brady would have his suspension overruled, by a New York Judge.
PLAY-CALLING: Brady spent most of the first half handing off, with the Patriots running the ball on 16 of their first 18 plays. “That was across the board”.
The Dolphins didn’t give Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who was sacked twice and hit often, much room to roam.
“When people come and ask to interview them, I think it’s a compliment to the organization, not that we want to lose anybody”. “So I know a lot of guys are fighting through a lot of stuff”. ESPN first reported the news.
JACKSON SCORES: Patriots running back Steven Jackson scored on a 2-yard run, his first TD since joining the team Dec 22. Being a Patriot fan this season had some great highs, and some incredible lows.
The Dolphins led 10-3 at the half after Tannehill fired a 15-yard touchdown pass to Parker with 36 seconds left in the second quarter.
