MSU picked 2nd, Michigan picked 4th in Big Ten East
The vote is in and the results show that Ohio State is the favorite to the win the Big Ten in 2015.
While the majority of Big Ten Conference football writers think the University of Wisconsin football team will repeat as West Division champions this season, none believe the Badgers have what it takes to topple defending national champion Ohio State.
The poll conducted by Doug Lesmerises Les featured 40 voters, and all of those voters picked the Buckeyes to win the Big Ten championship.
There wasn’t much trouble picking the west division either, as Wisconsin collected 32 of 40 first place votes.
The Michigan State’s road game in Columbus on November 21 was already a big one to circle on the Spartans’ schedule, but the polling further highlights the point.
The other vote went to Maryland cornerback William Likely, who finished fifth in the voting behind Michigan State defensive end Shilique Calhoun, Penn State defensive tackle Anthony Zettel and Ohio State linebacker Darron Lee.
In the east, Penn State is picked to finish third with Michigan picked fourth.
The outlook isn’t as positive for the Michigan Wolverines in their first year under head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Though Michigan State is just two years removed from winning the Big Ten and the Rose Bowl, that is a distant memory in the eyes of the Big Ten football writers. Rutgers 78 7. Indiana 76.5.
