MTV VMAs to feature Kanye West, Rihanna, Britney Spears

The MTV VMAs take place at Madison Square Garden at 9pm on Sunday (2am Monday BST). There are reports all over Twitter that she’s been seen rehearsing in NY where the VMAs will be held on August 28.

Spears is also to be the subject of a 2017 TV biopic for the Lifetime cable channel that will chart her rise to fame along with her stumbles, and her romances with Justin Timberlake and ex-husbands Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline.

Kanye West reportedly has four whole minutes to do whatever he wants on stage. She also made another history back in 2015 when she presented the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award to Kanye West.

This could be major, considering that MTV has not included Beyonce in their list of scheduled performers at the awards show, or even hinted that a surprise performance could be coming. “She’s not playing. She’s bringing it”.

The 2016 MTV VMAs are set to air on MTV on August 28 at 9pm ET. A promo video was released showing Spears carrying a snake from her 2001 I’m a Slave 4 U hit, followed by footage from 2003 as she wore a wedding dress to perform.

Britney Spears will perform “Make Me”, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande will perform “Side to Side”, Nick Jonas and Ty Dolla $ign will perform “Bacon” and Rihanna will sing ahead of accepting the MTV VMAs 2016 Vanguard Award.

The MTV VMAs might be all about celebrating the best music videos of the year, but its also the annual arena for pop feuds, meltdowns and shock announcements.

However, this year Rihanna will be opening the MTV Video Music Awards, something that she confirmed on Instagram.
