Muller is priceless, says Bayern team-mate Lahm
Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm says it would be impossible to put a price on team-mate Thomas Muller.
“Thomas is one of those role models who you can’t attach a price-tag to. He lives for Bayern, he is a very, very important player for us”, Lahm was quoted as saying by German newspaper Munchner Mekur on Monday.
The Red Devils desperately need another option before the window closes, and if it is Muller, not only will they boast one of the most ruthless forwards in Europe, it will also allow Wayne Rooney to play his more natural game.
And during Bayern’s tour of China in July, club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge called the alleged interest “a duck drowning in the Pacific,” and both the chairman and sporting executive Matthias Sammer reiterated that Muller “is a player who has no price tag”.
If there was ever a player to try and convince Muller to stay at Bayern Munich it would be Lahm – a man who himself has a history with Manchester United.
There shouldn’t be a concern about Bayern’s identity.
By contrast, Muller is a star performer just entering the prime of his career, and he figures to be a key component of manager Pep Guardiola’s side for years to come. Look at the team: “Thomas Muller, Holger Badstuber, David Alaba, me – all from the youth team”, he said.
The Red Devils have been trying to sign a new attacker for much of the summer, but it is expected they will have to turn elsewhere and look for alternatives to the 25-year-old.
