Mumbai attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed lauds Pathankot attacks, warns India of more
Strongly reacting to 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed’s call to launch more Pathankot airbase like attacks, New Delhi today asked Pakistan to curb his propaganda against India if it is serious about the ties. This also underscores India’s contrary position to recent statement made by High Commissioner of Pakistan Abdul Basit while speaking exclusively, to ABP News that the two tracks should be separate i;e Foreign Secretaries should focus on talks on taking comprehensive bilateral dialogue forward and NSAs should deal with terror and Pathankot Attack issue.
“Hafiz Saeed is globally-designated international terrorist”. “Hafiz Saeed is an internationally designated terrorist; it is for Pakistan to put a stop to his activities”, the ministry of external affairs said. “In October, we had seen that the Government of Pakistan had banned the electronic coverage of some of these organisations including the one to which Hafiz Saeed belongs”.
Saeed also lauded Kashmiri militant leader Sayed Salahuddin, who heads the United Jihad Council (UJC) that has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Referring to the Pathankot terror attack, Saeed had dismissed the suggestion that the government was “patronising” some “non-state actors and banned organisations”.
India has blamed Pakistani terrorists for the Pathankot attack, submitted evidence to prove that the six men who opened fire at the base came from across the border, and demanded action against the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, who plotted the assault.
Responding to a question, Khalilullah said the dossiers on India’s alleged involvement in fomenting terrorism in Pakistan have already been shared with the USA and the UN. “Matters could easily escalate”.
Ahead of the “solidarity day” being observed in Pakistan on Kashmir, Khalilullah said, “India continues to violate the human rights of and brutalise Kashmiris in the occupied Kashmir”.
