Murder investigation after body found in Belfast house fire
The victim was found dead at the scene and p olice said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
The blaze in Lagmore was reported to police at about 5am today. Floral tributes were left outside the house.
The police declared her death a murder following the results of a post mortem on Monday.
Friends and neighbours have organised a vigil for the dead woman to be held outside her Lagmore home on Monday evening.
Emergency services attended the blaze after the police received a report of a house fire shortly before 5am.
Friend Andrea Gallagher said Ms Dornan always ensured “her house was spotless” and spoke of how “Jennifer changed people’s lives”.
“I also want to hear from anyone who saw other people walking in the area around this time, particularly in Hazel View”.
Witnesses said flames could be seen billowing through the house from miles away. “This could be completely unconnected but we need the driver or any passengers to come forward”.
Tributes have been paid to the 30-year-old mother-of-three who has been praised by friends for being the “life and soul of the community”.
“Jen was a single mother who devoted all her time en energy to being the fantastic mother she was these kids will be truly devastated not just losing there mother but home and all their belongings”.
“I live just up the street and I don’t know what we’re all going to do without her. She was a huge part of this community and was involved in a lot of stuff that went on in the area”. Jenny was a lovely girl, a brilliant mum who adored her children.
“We’ll stand here in the rain for as long as it takes, but we will be here when Jennifer’s body is taken out”, said one friend. “She was just brilliant, she could never be replaced”, she said.
Detectives from the Serious Crime Branch of the PSNI are now appealing to members of the community who saw Jennifer on Saturday night when she was socialising with friends. or in the early hours of Sunday morning as she walked home.to contact them on 101.
“She would have been there for anyone”.
Ms Dornan had enjoyed a night out on Saturday.
