Muscala, Sefolosha out versus Knicks
That will have to change Thursday evening, when they take on a New York Knicks team that showcased a high-octane offense and stingy defense in their opener.
They will be looking to get their first win of the season, as they struggled opening night with the Detroit Pistons; the Hawks lost their home opener 106-94 as they struggled to slow down Andre Drummond inside. In order to enter the win column for the first time this season, the Atlanta Hawks must rectify a few issues that were prevalent during Tuesday’s contest.
The Knicks are coming off of a game against the Bucks where they won by a score of 122-97.
New York is 10-5 SU in its last 15 games when playing Atlanta.
New York is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Atlanta.
New York responded from an early 11-4 deficit, thanks in no small part to its bench effort; Derek Fisher used a deep rotation on the first night of a back to back, and his reserves combined for 73 points, led by Derrick Williams’ 24. Backup point guard Dennis Schroder could receive a few minutes at shooting guard after scoring a team-best 20 points in the opener while Kent Bazemore and former Knick Tim Hardaway Jr. also are options. Rookie Kristaps Porzingis had 16 points and 5 rebounds in his debut. The favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
According to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Muscala sat out the rest of Tuesday night’s game because of a sprained right ankle.
New York will be relatively healthy Vs. Atlanta. The only injury of note to report is from Knicks Center Lou Admundson (back) who is listed as day-to-day. The game starts at 8:00 pm ET on Thursday, October 29 and will air on TNT.
