Music mogul Simon Cowell ‘burgled as he slept’
The burglary took place on December 4, reported Female First.
The TV mogul was targeted by a thief in the early hours of Friday morning (04Dec15), while he and girlfriend Lauren Silverman, along with their young son Eric, were asleep in the $56 million (£35 million) mansion in Holland Park.
The source told the paper the crooks had found the key to a safe shortly after 2am.
‘Officers attended the scene but the suspects had left the area, ‘ the Met confirmed.
So far, no arrests have been made, but an investigation is ongoing, said Scotland Yard, reports The Mirror.
Simon Cowell attempted to put a courageous face on his recent burglary during Saturday’s X Factor semi-final, as he jokingly accused Cheryl F-V of reminding him what had happened.
‘It is a terrible violation of their privacy.
But he wants his family to still live a normal life as much as possible because he does not want his home to be so heavily guarded like a military fort. However, they must feel secure in their home.
They added: “As upsetting as it is, Simon can cope with losing his possessions, as long as his family are safe. That is his one and only concern”.
“Still, it’s incredibly worrying and he is obviously going to review security”.
Simon and his family are all said to have been shaken by the incident.
This is the second time an intruder has entered the home after a 2012 incident where a brick was smashed through a window.
