Mustafi to cost Wenger £50m due to Chelsea deal
Mustafi is believed to have already agreed personal terms with Arsenal through his agent, Ali Bulut, although Valencia have elected to recall him to their squad for their opening La Liga fixture of the season as they take on Las Palmas on Monday night.
However, although Arsenal have been consistently been linked with a move for Shkodran Mustafi, any deal bringing the Valencia defender to the Emirates Stadium appeared to be moving very slowly.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Nicholas suggested that boss Arsene Wenger needs to get with the times and adds the addition of Lacazette and Mustafi would leave the North London club in great shape.
“Two or more clubs are in negotiations with the player, while there is also interest from other unnamed European sides”.
“Mustafi? We hope it will be done”.
And he told French TV station SFR Sport: “Mustafi?” “He is one of a number of players we are looking at”.
It was originally thought that the Gunners would pay around £25m for the 24-year-old.
Sky Germany reported in July that the Gunners had opened talks with Valencia to make the Germany worldwide their new defensive signing.
Jurgen Klopp has seen a spate of injuries hit his defence with Mamadou Sakho, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez all now on the sidelines and it’s led to the Merseysiders shipping five goals in their opening two Premier League games this season.
