Myhill signs new West Brom contract
Goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has signed a new two-year contract extension to keep him at West Brom beyond next summer.
“It’s great to get my future sorted out”, he told the club’s official website.
Myhill enjoyed a good run in the West Brom side at the back end of last season after filling in for the injured Ben Foster.
Myhill played the final nine Premier League games and had a key role in helping the club accrue the points required to stave off the threat of relegation.
“The biggest thing on the pre-season trips was not picking up injuries because we need everybody for the start of the season and we’re desperate for a few numbers to come in”.
Head coach Tony Pulis said: “I’m delighted Boaz has signed his new deal”.
Former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby could be poised to join West Brom.
The boss is interested in Crystal Palace’s Wayne Hennessey, who worked under him at Selhurst Park, but the Baggies are yet to make an official move.
Diaby is available on a Bosman free transfer after his release by the London club at the end of last season and talks are scheduled to take place by the weekend.
