Myles Jury vs. Charles Oliveira Added to UFC on FOX 17
A prospect in the lightweight division, 26 year-old Myles Jury had won six UFC fights in a row and exhibited an undefeated 15-0 record before meeting Donald Cerrone in January and losing a unanimous decision to “Cowboy”. UFC officials announced the new fight as part of Wednesday night’s edition of “UFC Tonight” on FOX Sports 1. The Brazilian earned three Performance of the Night bonuses in his four previous bouts, including banking two bonuses for his UFC Fight Night 67 submission win over Nik Lentz in May.
Charles Oliveira’s wish was granted after all, as he will get to be on the December 19th UFC on FOX card in Orlando.
Oliveira will be looking to bounce back from a freaky TKO loss to Max Holloway in the UFC Fight Night 74 main event in Canada in August.
The fight is Jury’s first at 145 lbs., and he drops down after a loss to current No. 1 contender at lightweight, Donald Cerrone. He has recently made the move from Alliance MMA in San Diego to Power MMA in Arizona, home to fellow TUF alums, Ryan Bader and CB Dollaway.
UFC on FOX 17 will be headlined by a fight between Cerrone and lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos. Also on the card, Junior dos Santos vs. Alistair Overeem, Michael Johnson vs. Nate Diaz, and Josh Samman vs. the returning Tamdan McCrory.
