NA-154 by-polls : Pervaiz slams Imran’s remarks on South Carolina verdict

“Ayaz Sadiq is contesting the election but where is the other candidate who had contested the election in 2013”.

He announced that he would himself spearhead the party’s by-election campaign in Lahore.

Ayaz had won against Imran Khan in NA-122 but the tribunal annulled the election citing gross irregularities committed by the election staff.

In a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday after the PTI’s Central Organizing Committee meeting, the party Chief Imran Khan made the announcement in this regard.

He went on to say that PTI will win the by-polls despite pre-poll rigging and usage government machinery in NA-122.

Earlier today Supreme Court of Pakistan granted a stay order to PML-N’s “disqualified” MNA Saddiq Baloch a decision of an election tribunal which declared his election as null and void while ordering a re-election in NA-154. Nazir Mughal, candidate for vice-chairman in UC 121, withdrew his candidacy in favour of PTI’s Mehr Abdul Waheed.

Hamza Shahbaz further said the problems faced by people had increased because of sit-ins and politics of rigging.

Will deploy our people at every single polling station in NA-122 so that no one can rig elections, he added.

They were former PML-N MNAs Akhtar Kanju and Zawar Warraich, former ticket-holder Ahmad Nawaz Joiya, former MPA Qasim Khan Malaizai and former secretary to parliament Tahir Malaizai. “I will lead Tsunami in Lahore and create a situation like 2013’s general elections once again”, he said.

On a question he answered that in NA-122 PTI workers will monitor the election. The party had also announced to hold a sit-in in front of the ECP building in Islamabad on October 4. “Khan is expected to arrive in Lahore on September 30”, he said.
