Napa wildfire forces evacuation of Silverado Resort after Safeway Open

“When I found her I said, ‘Forget it, let’s just go.’ It went from being an annoying evacuation to something really scary”.
The two soon were loaded onto a city bus and shuttled away.
More than 200 people were hurriedly evacuated from Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital and Santa Rosa Medical Center, where the blaze could be seen raging nearby. The Tubbs fire, which had spread from Calistoga to Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, has engulfed more than 25,000 acres (9,000 hectares).
The fire was reported at about 3 a.m. and closed Highway 37 in both directions, according to the CHP.
An obligatory clearing was requested Monday morning in Sonoma County, too other influenced provinces. “Winds will continue to gust between 35 and 45 miles per hour with locally stronger gusts up to 55 miles per hour in the highest mountains. Once the fires got started, they rapidly developed”. The winds were expected to subside at midday.
AccuWeather Meteorologist Jordan Root said dry and warm winds will continue to fan wildfires across the region before diminishing Monday evening.
The Sonoma County Emergency Operations Center was opened just after midnight Monday to respond to the numerous fires. KPIX said the blazes had stretched local firefighting resources, and calls were out for assistance. Pimlott says the fires are burning throughout an eight-county swath of Northern California, including Napa, Sonoma and Yuba counties. News footage showed Kaiser Permanente Hospital patients wheeled out on stretchers. Guests staying at the Silverado Resort and Spa on Atlas Peak Road were evacuated during the night as the flames rushed toward the properties.
There are churches and community centers open to those families that are seeking refuge from the fire. Evacuations were also issued for surrounding counties that are under threat, according to the Napa Valley Sheriff’s Office.
Late Monday morning, an out of control fire was accounted for southeast of Los Angeles in the slope nation of eastern Orange County.
The death occurred in the Mendocino County area, according to Cal-Fire, which declined to immediately release further details. Large animals can be taken to the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds at 1350 Bennett Valley Road.
