Narendra Modi takes jibe at Robert Vadra, Congress says ashamed of PM’s
Lamenting that the United Nations has been unable to define terrorism in 70 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said if it takes so long in doing so, then how many years will be required to deal with the menace.
Modi’s meeting with the British Prime Minister David Cameron was a last minute addition, the official said.
The foundation began its work in India a decade ago with an initiative to curtail the spread of HIV.
He recalled that when late Rajiv Gandhi was Prime Minister, he requested the then opposition leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee to lead the Indian delegation overseas on quite a few occasions.
Referring to Modi getting emotional and breaking down while talking about his mother, the Congress spokesman said, true to his characteristic style, the PM once again engaged in theatrics, emotion and drama, making boastful claims. JD(U) leader K C Tyagi also took a dig at Modi, saying, “Questions can also be raised as to why he does not stay with his mother”.
“The Prime Minister is misusing his official visits overseas and we demand an independent inquiry (into the rallies)… with 100s of millions of dollars spent in their organisation with activists of the RSS and others going months ahead for preparations”, he remarked.
