NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: Quicken Loans Race For Heroes 500 Weekend Schedule

From getting in the Chase once you win a race, it kind of relieves that pressure until you get to Race 27 at Chicago.

Jeff Gordon is the only Chase driver who has clinched his spot in the championship race at Homestead, and thanks to Jimmie Johnson winning at Texas, there are seven drivers battling for three spots in the final round, with two of those drivers being in practically must win situations. Last week in Texas, it appeared Keselowski would advance to Homestead with a victory while leading 312 laps. All of the other six Chase drivers (not including Jeff Gordon, who is already locked into a berth at Homestead) can potentially reach the final round depending upon where they are in the standings. Last week: Jimmie Johnson raced to his fourth consecutive Texas fall victory, taking the lead from Chase contender Brad Keselowski with three laps left.

Busch led for all but 10 laps of the DAV 200 Presented by Great Clips to pick up a record eighth series win at the one mile oval.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night and will go until 8:30 p.m. Buescher can clinch his first championship by finishing 13th or better in the race. Tyler Reddick is ranked third, 21 points behind Jones, while Johnny Sauter is a distant 71 points back….
