Nashville Predators Blank Minnesota Wild 3-0
Minnesota Wild coach Bruce Boudreau left the bench with 5:44 left in Minnesota’s 4-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Friday night, bleeding after taking a puck to the head.
Forsberg has played his entire six-season National Hockey League career with the Predators. “It’s an unfortunate thing, all the teams deal with it. Look around the league, everybody seems to be losing a player here or there”.
It was the second time in the last four games the Wild had been shut out, as the team was blanked 3-0 by the Lightning in its final test before the break, and fourth overall this season.
Nashville Predators goalie Juuse Saros (74) makes a save on a shot by Minnesota Wild left wing Jason Zucker (16) during the first period at Bridgestone Arena. The Predators weren’t successful through two periods, failing to score on four chances. Forsberg tops the team with 15 goals but has not recorded one in the last seven games and Subban moved into second place on the Predators with 27 points – one more than forward Kevin Fiala. Turris has eight goals and 19 assists to his name and has notched a point in 17 contests.
Throughout the Predators’ season, “Morning Skate” will highlight the odds and ends surrounding the team. When the Wild play with a simple approach to create offense off the shot, they are at their best.
2-3: The Wild’s record in the second game of a back-to-back. Granlund added his 10th goal of the season less than a minute later on the power play for his third multi-goal game of the season.
Devan Dubnyk (28.4 saves per game) has been the main choice in the net for Minnesota. Dubnyk has a record of 12-8-2 on the year.
Last night the Wild came out strong with a game plan of shoot first and the result was 18 shots on goal and a 2-1 lead after one.
This three-game run against the Central isn’t the Wild’s last concentrated stretch against its rivals; it plays consecutive games against the Jets and Blackhawks later in January, and there’s also another three-gamer in March – among a few other sets. The 2nd and 3rd line will stay the same from last game.
Minnesota will have a couple days off before their next game at home against the Florida Panthers.
