Natalie Cole has died at age 65
On New Year’s Eve, the nine-time Grammy-winning singer died in a Los Angeles hospital, her family said on Friday.
“Unforgettable … With Love” won multiple Grammys, including the 1992 Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Traditional Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year, Arrangement Accompanying Vocals and Producer of the Year.

She rocketed to the top of the charts with her debut album Inseparable, in May 1975. She wrote: “I am so sad to hear about Natalie Cole’s passing”. Singer Natalie Cole, famous for such hits as “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)”, died Thursday night at 65.

Natalie picked up several Grammy nominations throughout her glittering career and eventually won her first in 1976 for Best New Artist and Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female. Not only did she inspire others, but she empowered them by her brutal honesty of her struggles of drug addiction in her book titled Angel on My Shoulder.
Aretha Franklin also issued a statement, saying that she had to “hold back the tears”, adding, “She fought for so long”.

Cole showed a world so cold to the idea of having a minority in media that it was possible and wonderful, and silenced all the haters by her lovely voice. That same year, Cole was arrested in Toronto, Canada, for heroin possession, which she discussed in her autobiography.
“I didn’t realize how close I was to checking out”, Cole, said.
