Natalie Dormer is Game of Thrones fan
While chatting with Jimmy Kimmel last night, Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer briefly discussed shooting in Belfast and Spain, but also touched on how she gets to still enjoy the show despite being a member of the cast.
“The beauty of Game of Thrones is it’s always making these unlikely pairings from one season to the next”.
Dormer, whose character Margaery Tyrell was sent to the dungeons in the Season 5 finale, was tight-lipped when it came to revealing anything about the highly anticipated new season.
Admittedly, this could be nothing, but some think that Dormer’s hasty addition of “and King’s Landing” to the list of storylines she pays attention to was an attempt to distract from a slip-up she made: she said she only reads scripts that are “relevant…to Highgarden”.
“I watched season 1 like a fan, like you”.
Indeed, at the end of the last season, series five, Margaery found herself in the custody of the Faith awaiting trial for perjury.
“Now there’s some posters up that maybe have given a little bit of the game away”, Dormer said, dropping a major hint that those promotional images focusing on Jon Snow mean we’re not so done with him, after all.
With The Forest due in theaters nationwide on January 8th, I got the chance to sit down with Dormer and Kinney to talk about their experience working on the film.
“I’ll be sitting in the hair and makeup trailer, and someone will show up and I’ll be like, ‘What are you doing here?'” Dormer said.
In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz’s “Happy, Sad, Confused” podcast, Dormer told the host that the 2005 Heath Ledger starrer “Casanova” – her first role – ended up being a major lesson in how to deal with disappointment. “Oh my gosh, you’re back?'”
“Game of Thrones” season 6 premieres in April on HBO.
