Nate Robinson wants a part in Seahawks’ ‘Legion of Boom’
The five-foot-nine 32-year-old averaged 11.0 points per game and won three slam-dunk titles over 11 National Basketball Association seasons.
Robinson had a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, the Washington Post initially reported.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound former Boston Celtic played cornerback as a freshman at the University of Washington.
If you’re wondering why that would land Robinson on the pages of Pro Football Talk, the answer is that Robinson is interested in having that chapter be about a shift to the NFL.
“The former National Basketball Association star, who won three improbable Slam Dunk Contests despite being 5’9”, and averaged over 17 points per game as the Knicks backup point guard in the 2008-2009 season, played for several National Basketball Association teams before an global stint in Israel during the 2015-2016 season. He most recently had a two game stint with the New Orleans Pelicans before heading to play in Israel with Hapoel Tel-Aviv. In high school, Robinson totaled 21 touchdowns and over 1,700 total yards in his senior year. He ultimately chose to give up football to focus on basketball and was later drafted with the 21st overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. He would become the first National Basketball Association player to also suit up in the NFL if he earned a spot on a roster.
