National Basketball Association Buzz: Spurs’ LaMarcus Aldridge learning Gregg Popovich does things his way
He has yet to even play in a single preseason game for his new team and already offseason San Antonio signee LaMarcus Aldridge is getting his first heavy dose of Spurs-related culture shock.
Aldridge, who signed a four-year, $84 million contract with San Antonio this past summer, was held out of Tuesday’s practice for precautionary reasons as he deals with leg tightness. Thankfully for the Spurs, if anyone can figure out how to accomplish both goals, it’ll definitely be Gregg Popovich.
“We sat him out”, coach Gregg Popovich said told the San Antonio Express-News.
Of course, everybody needs to know what Robinson thinks concerning the largest low season in Spurs historical past. In general, however, Popovich indicated this could be a busier preseason than usual for veteran holdovers like Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. But Aldridge will also require considerable on-court time to familiarize himself with the Spurs’ schemes.
Popovich did so because the Spurs were playing their fourth game in five nights. The Spurs won the 2014 National Basketball Association Championship despite not having a single player eclipse the 30 minutes per game plateau that year.
