National Football League suspends ex-Cowboys RB Joseph Randle for four games
The former Cowboys running back was suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
Randle is now not on a team’s active roster, but the suspension begins immediately.
Randle has shown productivity at running back but lost his job to Darren McFadden. Police were contacted after a dispute between Randle and the mother of his son, when Randle allegedly broke a vehicle window and threatened her with a gun.
Randle was already away from the team to deal with unspecified personal issues when he was released by the Cowboys last Tuesday.
Randle has ability, but the circumstances surrounding his departure from Dallas combined with his suspension could keep teams from pursuing the running back as an in-season option. Along with the arrest he had in Kansas, he was also arrested for shoplifting in October of 2014. He was attempting to steal underwear and a tester bottle of cologne.
The Cowboys cut Randle last week and he cleared waivers, meaning he is now a free agent.
