National Weather Service Confirms 3 Tornadoes in Kentucky, West Virginia
A microburst, according to the NWS, is a convective downdraft with an affected outflow area less than 2.4 miles wide and peak winds lasting less than five minutes.
Weather Team 18 Meteorologist Amber Hardick said the hot and humid conditions will fuel storms as the system to the west enters the state.
The storm also brought down a fireworks tent near Valley View Mall, trapping one person inside.
Several trees were uprooted and cars moved.
A farm building was damaged when a tornado touched down near Cream, Wis. Richard Nimz says he was awake when all of a sudden he heard the wind pick up in an instant.
The weather service said Tuesday that an EF-1 tornado touched down near Brodhead in Rockcastle County around 4:30 p.m. on July Fourth. Winds brought down a barn and damaged a home near Zumbro Falls. The twister traveled two-tenths of a mile. 88, according to Weather Service reports.
Weather Service teams remained in the field Wednesday morning scouting other potential touchdowns.
Storms are expected to hit the St. Cloud area between 5 and 8 pm Thursday.
More severe weather is possible through tonight in southern and west central Wisconsin.
